About Tatiana

My first contact with counselling happened during my teenage years, when my parents divorced and I had difficulties with both my family and life changes as a young person. The opportunity to have a neutral space, separate from my family, friends and school, invaluable. I found strength in myself to face the difficulties of my life at that time.

This experience taught me the value of this work , and the need to go beyond our immediate experience, trusting that help is available and there is hope.

I was so inspired by the benefits I experienced I decided to train as a Clinical Psychologist. Based on my own experiences and my professional practice, I strongly believe that healing and growth can happen given the right conditions. The thing is, these conditions are sometimes very hard to find!

The person-centred approach as the name says, puts the person at the centre of their experience. This is necessary as it provides an opportunity to be more of our actual selves! We are asked many and many times to "fit" in someone else, or society's agendas and demands. Counselling will allow your space/time away from your everyday life, to find your own voice, needs , desires and resources to grow.

I am still here with the challenge to say something about me as a therapist ,  and how to translate almost 30 years of experiences since I became part  of the world of psychology psychotherapy and counselling, into a small enough space . I can only make a crude attempt  saying it has been a very challenging, sometimes fantastic beyond anything imaginable , sometimes gruelling experience!

It all started , really, before I was born, including where and when I was born … but to not transform this website into a biography and to make it more interesting , hopefully… the timeline below shows  a bit about my story , issues I faced which shaped me as a person .

My work has been to understand, heal and transform, through learning, connection and love.

Timeless is the love and connections I have found along the way. The encouragement, kindness, generosity and love that kept me going when things were really hard, when I didn't believe it was possible to make it through . My friends , therapists, teachers, supervisors and the forces of nature where there to hold me, for that I am grateful.
